Mark D. Dotson, President CEO WUCC/CU King

Mark Dotson is the president and CEO of Western Utah Copper Company and CU King. Mr. Dotson has extensive experience in geology, exploration and open pit mining. Mr. Dotson has been a contractor instrumental in completing several $25 million dollar projects. Mr. Dotson is responsible for the long term employment of numerous people in other successful mining operations over the years. He is very familiar with all of the prospecting, drilling, and mining that have been going on for years near Milford, Utah, and is the person most responsible for gathering all of the various mining properties in the District into one 75 square mile property.

Mr. Dotson is the one most responsible for the successful completion of a state of the art high tech $60MM flotation mill. Mr. Dotson has been trained in geology, mining, and mine related construction of all kinds. Mr. Dotson has been elected three times to political office, to the city, a division of the state, and twice nominated to serve as a Western Director of Minerals for BLM. (Both positions were declined because of time constraints.)

David McMullin, Vice President

David McMullin is a Senior-level executive with extensive finance and administration experience in diverse industries, including retail, financial and mining. David has strong qualifications in general management, business planning, systems technology design, and staff development and project implementation. David has been an active, energizing force on the Copper King Board of Directors. He presently chairs pre-audit committee and the compensation committee and is the SFO.

David Jensen

David Graduated with 4.0 Honors in Metallurgical and chemical processing. David has worked for and held senior leadership positions with three major world wide copper mining companies including BHP, Kennecott Copper and Magma Copper. David has extensive experience in Flotation mills, design, construction and start-ups. David is the process engineer in charge of the WUCC/Copper King mill and partly responsible for the state of the art controls and other cutting edge improvements that will help make it a big success. David also played a key role in the successfull completion of the flotation mill.


Charles W. McGinley III, Senior Mining Engineer

Mr. McGinley has over 30 years of technical and practical experience in many varied geo-mechanical environments and mining methods, and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Utah. He has kept his education current with courses in Rock Mechanics and Blasting.

His comprehensive abilities encompass the following relevant areas:

  • Underground and surface fragmentation engineering work.
  • Management of producing operations, including supervision of miners, budgetary preparation and production levels, safety programs, mining regulations and reports.
  • Surface and underground mining equipment.
  • Implementation and modification of mining preparation, feasibility and production methods, short and long range mine planning, cost and profitability projections.

David Hartshorn, Geologist

Mr. Hartshorn has a Masters degree in Geology and additional training in mining engineering. He has successfully designed and mined three large open pit gold mines for Jumbo Mining Company in Utah and Nevada, and has over 28 years experience. Mr. Hartshorn has extensive experience in every aspect of large mining operations from raw exploration, to full metal recovery. Mr. Hartshorn has led the successful drilling campaigns that WUCC has conducted discovering many new ore reserves and enlarging existing ones.
